Using Disney World's Transportation: Everything You Need to Know
Knowing how to travel from each Disney property to the other can get a bit overwhelming for new visitors.
In this page, we'll explain what types of transportation options Disney offers, the pros and cons of each option, and the easiest way to get from one Disney property to another.

Types of Disney Transportation
Disney Bus
Disney Buses can be found all over Disney properties including theme parks, hotels, and even Disney Springs.
Disney buses allow visitors to travel in comfort (and AC) as they transition from one park to the other.
Disney buses are also complimentary for all guests, which means that you don't need to stay at a Disney resort to use them.
Something to be aware of is Disney buses come around every 20 minutes, so if the bus is not there when you get there, chances are that you'll have to wait a few minutes until the next one shows up.
Monorail
The Disney Monorail is one of the faster transportation options that the park offers.
For those who have never ridden the Disney Monorail before, make sure to hold on tightly as they carry some speed.
These monorails can reach 30 miles per hour during the ride.
Have no fear, however, as there are plenty of seats available.
If you choose to stand, there are also plenty of safety handles for visitors to grab onto during the ride.
The monorails on average runs about every 10 minutes.
Skyliner Gondola
If you aren't afraid of heights, the Disney Skyliner is a unique and scenic way to travel.
Not only will you see the park and its surroundings from a bird-eye view, but it's a very relaxing and enjoyable ride.
Skyliner Gondola Features
The outside of each gondola features a picture of your favorite Disney characters ranging from The Lion King to Toy Story.
Visitors can sightsee from inside of their gondola (outwards), but others aren't able to see inside of other visitors' gondolas.
The Disney Skyliner is one of the newest forms of transportation, as they introduced this in 2019.
Minnie Van Service
At an additional cost, visitors can take the Minnie Van Service where the drivers are Disney Cast Members.
The Minnie Van Service is a Disney-themed car that can take guests to a Disney park in style (and comfort).
Each vehicle accommodates up to 6 Guests.
Guests will simply use the Lyft app to schedule their rides as they normally would.
However, they will select 'Minnie Van Service' over the other options (Lyft, Lyft XL, etc).
From Magic Kingdom
To EPCOT
The best way to get from Magic Kingdom to EPCOT is by using the monorail line, for a total transportation time of 20-25 minutes. Visitors will take two separate monorails to get to the EPCOT park. For other transportation alternatives, visitors can also use Disney buses or ride-sharing services.
The monorail to EPCOT has two stops including:
- Disney's Contemporary Resort
- The Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC)
The TTC is where all of Magic Kingdom's transportation and parking happens.
From the TTC, visitors can follow the signs to the 'EPCOT Monorail' to board their second and final monorail to their destination.
The monorail will drop you off right next to EPCOT's main entrance.
To Hollywood Studios
The fastest way to get from Magic Kingdom to Hollywood Studios is by taking a Disney Bus.
When you're leaving the park through the main gates, the Disney bus stops can be found on your left-hand side.
After you board the bus, the buses will drop you off right next to the Hollywood Studios' main entrance.
To Animal Kingdom
There are two easy ways to travel from Magic Kingdom to the Animal Kingdom including taking the Disney bus and the Minnie Van Service.
The Disney bus is the traditional (free of cost) route, while the Minnie Van service is the newest and most unique route at an additional cost.
To take the Disney bus, you'll simply exit Magic Kingdom, and the bus stop will be located on your right.
There will be different numbered signs that explain to which park each bus is headed.
Find the bus number headed to Animal Kingdom, and wait at that stop.
Something else to be aware of is Disney buses come around every 20 minutes, so if the bus is not there when you get there, chances are that you'll have to wait a few minutes until the next one shows up.
To Disney Springs
The best free way to travel from Magic Kingdom to Disney Springs is by walking to Disney's Contemporary Resort (0.5 miles) which is about a 9-minute walk, and then taking a Disney bus from the resort to Disney Springs.
When you are exiting Magic Kingdom from the main gate, you can make a left, and follow this pink/red sidewalk path to the Contemporary.
You'll know that you're heading the right way when you walk past the ridesharing services pick-up.

From EPCOT
To Magic Kingdom
It is much faster to ride the bus from EPCOT to Magic Kingdom!
With the monorail, you will have to take the ride to the Transportation and Ticket Center, and then transfer over to the Magic Kingdom Monorail.
However, if you ride the bus, you can head directly to Magic Kingdom from EPCOT without needing to take any type of detours.
The bus can be found in front of the Beach Club Resort. Simply click this map and click the 'Directions' button on your smartphone to get there.
To Hollywood Studios
The best way to get from EPCOT to Hollywood Studios is by using the Disney Skyliner. It'll take a total of 20-25 minutes, and you'll have amazing views on the way.
The other options include taking the Disney Bus, Monorail, or the Friendship Boat.
To Animal Kingdom
The best way to travel from EPCOT to Animal Kingdom is by using the Disney bus service.
The reason for this is that Animal Kingdom is located much further away than all of the other Disney parks, which means other services such as the monorail, and ferry don't currently go to Animal Kingdom.
To Disney Springs
The best free way to travel from EPCOT to Disney Springs is by walking to Disney's Boardwalk Inn Resort (0.3 miles) which is about a 7-minute walk, and then taking a Disney bus from the resort to Disney Springs.
You'll simply exit the park from the EPCOT International Gateway (under the Skyliner station between the United Kingdom and France), and then you'll make a left.
After that, you can simply follow the path down until you reach the Boardwalk Resort.
To Typhoon Lagoon
The second fastest way to get from EPCOT to Typhoon Lagoon is by walking to the Beach Club Resort, and then from there, taking the Disney bus to the water park.
It is about a 10-15 minute walk, at a distance of 0.6 miles.
You can even use Google Maps for live walking directions.
Although some guests understandably prefer getting right into an air-conditioned bus after a long day in the Florida heat, if you don't mind walking a little while longer, this is a great alternative.
Due to not having to wait for two separate buses (they typically make their rounds every 15-20 minutes), with a little luck this could be the faster way to get to Typhoon Lagoon.
From Hollywood Studios
To Magic Kingdom
There are two easy ways to travel from Hollywood Studios to Magic Kingdom including taking the Disney bus to the Contemporary resort or taking the Disney Bus to the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Once you arrive at the Contemporary Resort, you'll simply head to the front of the resort and take the walkway that connects to Magic Kingdom.
It is about a 10-15 minute walk, and visitors will use the same sidewalk the entire way down.

To EPCOT
The best way to get from Hollywood Studios to EPCOT is by using the Disney Skyliner. It'll take a total of 20 minutes, and you'll have amazing views on the way. The other options include taking the Disney Bus or the Ferry Boat.
To Animal Kingdom
The best way to travel from Hollywood Studios to Animal Kingdom is by using the Disney bus service.
The reason for this is that Animal Kingdom is located much further away than all of the other Disney parks, which means other services such as the monorail, and ferry don't currently go to Animal Kingdom.
To Disney Springs
The best way to get from Hollywood Studios to Disney Springs is to take the Disney bus to Disney's Port Orleans Resort, then exit the bus, and take a boat at the resort directly to Disney Springs.
The boat ride is extremely relaxing, the ambiance can't be beaten, and even jazz music is playing throughout the ride.
When you're exiting the park, you'll see the sign above that will let you know that buses can be found towards the right.
You can simply follow the signs when exiting the park until you arrive at the bus stop.
From Animal Kingdom
To Magic Kingdom
The best way to get from Animal Kingdom to Magic Kingdom is by using the Disney buses.
When you are exiting the Animal Kingdom park through the main entrance, they will be located on your right-hand side.
To EPCOT
The best way to get from Animal Kingdom to EPCOT is by using the Disney buses.
When you are exiting the Animal Kingdom park through the main entrance, they will be located on your right-hand side.
To Hollywood Studios
The best free way to travel from Animal Kingdom to Hollywood Studios is by using the Disney bus service.
The reason for this is that Animal Kingdom is located much further away than all of the other Disney parks, which means other services such as the monorail, and ferry don't currently go to Animal Kingdom.
The Disney buses can be found on your right-hand side after exiting the park.
As you're exiting the park, you'll see the above sign pointing to where the different transportation options can be found.
To Disney Springs
The best free way to travel from Animal Kingdom to Disney Springs is by using the Disney bus service to the Animal Kingdom Lodge resort and then taking another Disney bus to Disney Springs.
The Disney buses can be found on your right-hand side after exiting the park.
As you're exiting the park, you'll see the above sign pointing to where the different transportation options can be found.
From Disney Springs
To Magic Kingdom
A great option to get from Disney Springs to Magic Kingdom is to walk from Disney Springs to Saratoga Springs, and then catch the Disney bus directly to Magic Kingdom.
You do not have to stay at the resort to be able to ride the bus.
This is around a 2-mile walk, depending on where exactly in Disney Springs you began walking from. Despite the walk, it will save you plenty of time and money if you're able to do so.
This is a common tip that many Disney Springs guests use to make their way to Magic Kingdom.
To EPCOT
The quickest way to get from Disney Springs to EPCOT is by taking the Disney bus back to the Swan Hotel and then walking to EPCOT.
The walk is a little less than a mile (0.7 miles) and is about a 15-minute walk.
The buses are located at the Marketplace Bus Loop, on the east side of Disney Springs.
Visitors who take this path will end up at the International Gateway.
Once they enter there, they will end up in the middle of the United Kingdom Pavilion and France Pavilion, in the World Showcase part of EPCOT.
To Hollywood Studios
Our favorite way to travel from Disney Springs to Hollywood Studios is by taking a Disney bus to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and then taking the Disney Skyliner directly to Hollywood Studios.
It'll take a total of 20-25 minutes, and you'll have amazing views on the way.
There are no Disney buses that travel from Disney Springs directly to Hollywood Studios, so visitors will have to take at least one bus to arrive at the park.
To Animal Kingdom
The best free way to get from Disney Springs to Animal Kingdom is by walking to Saratoga Springs, and then catching a Disney bus directly to Animal Kingdom. The walk is about 15 minutes long (0.8 miles), and you'll walk alongside a beautiful view.
Visitors will simply walk on the sidewalk throughout the entire path to Saratoga Springs.
