All of the SeaWorld Locations in the World | Easily Explained
SeaWorld is one of the most popular theme park companies in the world, known for its thrilling rides, and amazing aquatic shows.
In this guide, we will cover all of the SeaWorld locations, and explain what each park has to offer.
How Many SeaWorld Locations Are There?
There are a total of four SeaWorld parks in the world, with 3 being located in the United States and 1 in Abu Dhabi.
SeaWorld Orlando is located in Orlando, FL, SeaWorld San Diego in San Diego, California, and SeaWorld San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is located in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
The SeaWorld parks are some of the most unique parks in the world, as they feature roller coasters, aquatic shows, oceanariums, water rides, and restaurants.
Although there are four SeaWorld parks in the country, each park is different and offers its own unique twist.
Even if you've paid a visit to a specific SeaWorld park location, you haven't seen it all.
You'll have to visit the other locations to truly understand how different they are, in their own way.
1. SeaWorld Orlando
SeaWorld Orlando is the most popular SeaWorld park spanning 200 acres, and featuring 17 attractions, including 6 roller coasters, 2 water rides, and 5 shows.
SeaWorld Orlando was the second SeaWorld park to open almost 60 years ago, at the end of 1973.
Best Ride
Without question, the best ride at this SeaWorld park is the ultra-popular Mako ride.
Mako will reach speeds of 73 miles per hour, heights of 200 feet, and feature insanely sharp drops, with only a seatbelt that's around your waist.
When you exit the rider loading station, you'll immediately see how high you're going to climb.
However, unlike other rides, there's not a slow build-up as you climb the massive hill very quickly.
Once you reach the top, hold on tightly as it'll feel like you're flying out of your seat on every drop, for the duration of the ride.
Park Layout
This Orlando park is perfect for all visitors of all ages, including families.
The park is split into 7 different "Seas", with the most recent addition being Sesame Street Land.
Sesame Street is the newest area at the park which is specifically designed for toddlers, children, and families.
Sesame Street Land was the last missing piece for this park to be able to offer something for visitors of all ages.
2. SeaWorld San Diego
SeaWorld San Diego is the original SeaWorld park, having opened in March of 1964.
This 189-acre San Diego park showcases 16 attractions, including 5 roller coasters and 2 water rides.
Best Ride
Debuting in 2018, the Electric Eel steel roller coaster is the tallest & fastest coaster in San Diego.
Riders will drop from heights of 150 feet while going both forward and backward while reaching a top speed of 62 miles per hour.
The beginning of the ride is one of the coolest parts of the park, as you'll pick up speed quickly, until you suddenly stop right before a twist, only to begin going backward.
3. SeaWorld San Antonio
SeaWorld San Antonio is the largest theme park in the state of Texas, and the largest SeaWorld park at 250 acres.
SeaWorld San Antonio offers 14 attractions including 6 roller coasters, 2 water rides, and 6 shows.
This San Antonio park is the youngest SeaWorld park, having opened in May of 1988.
Best Ride
Texas Stingray is one of the newest and most popular rides in the park, reaching 55 miles per hour.
This ride is the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster in the state.
This coaster begins slowly as it climbs up the first big hill before making a right turn for a few seconds.
Unlike other coasters that stop at the top for a few seconds, this coaster gets right into it, and you'll immediately be going down the massive hill before you know it.
This is easily one of the coolest coasters in the park, as most wooden coasters that are out there today are on the older side, while this one is brand new.
4. SeaWorld Abu Dhabi
As the newest SeaWorld park to open (on May 23, 2023), the 45.2-acre SeaWorld Abu Dhabi park is also the first SeaWorld park to open outside of the United States.
Additionally, it's the first SeaWorld park without killer whales.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi features 15 rides, and 8 immersive realms that take visitors on a journey from the poles to the tropics, with each realm showcasing different marine environments and species.
The realms include:
- One Ocean: Animal Care Center, Media Shows, Dining options
- Abu Dhabi Ocean: Touch Pools, Pearl Diving Shows
- Rocky Point: Sea Lions
- Microocean: Rides, Play Areas & Live Entertainment
- Tropical Ocean: A Roller Coaster & Dolphins
- Arctic: Live Performances, Walruses & Shopping Areas
- Antarctica: Penguins & Dining Restaurants
- Endless Ocean: Observation Areas, Dining & Shopping Options
Although the park does not have orcas, the park still features 150 species of marine mammals in several animal exhibits, including a penguin exhibit, a sea turtle exhibit, and a shark exhibit.
Some of the park's main attractions include the Polar realm, the Tropics realm, and the Ocean realm, which features a 20-meter tall vertical window that reveals stunning aquatic scenes.
