1. Wild Thing

Commonly referred to as Valleyfair's most famous roller coaster, and for good reason.

The tallest and fastest roller coaster in the park will impress even the most experienced riders.

This green coaster begins by slowly making its way up 200+ feet to give you a spectacular view of the park and its surroundings (including route 76).

Once you've finally reached the top of the initial hill, there's a slight pause, and then the next thing that you know you're flying downhill at over 70 miles per hour.

Towards the end of the ride you'll go over one small hill that leads into a dark tunnel which is where your picture will be taken!

Duration

2 minutes 48 seconds.

Fun Facts

In 2019 Wild Thing gave the most rides that season, serving 800,000+ riders!

This coaster cost $9,500,000 to be built!

The massive success of this ride gave the builders a vote of confidence to create Steel Force in Dorney Park along with Mamba at Worlds of Fun.

2. Power Tower

The Power Tower is a fan favorite, completely vertical ride that will have anybody's stomach turning throughout the ride.

Make sure to check out this 360 degree video below, where you'll actually be able to move the video around with the mouse to see all points of view, as if you're actually there!

Unlike the Wild Thing, this ride immediately begins fast as you're launched straight up into the air.

Once you've reached the top, you'll want to make sure that you take a second to soak in the beautiful view.

After that, brace yourself (and your hair) because it's time to head directly down.

Duration

45 seconds.

3. Renegade

You just can't go to Valleyfair without riding the wooden roller coaster, you just can't do it!

There are many unique aspects to this ride but one of the best ones is that it only seats 2 riders per row.

Why does this matter? It allows the ride to make sharper turns and it almost moves in a snake-like fashion.

Even on the first big drop, the ride begins turning right only a few seconds into going downhill!

If you've ever rode a wooden roller coaster, you know they're much louder than regular coasters.

Now that along with the two seater rows and sharp turns is a recipe for pure adrenaline.

Duration

2 minutes 24 seconds.

Fun Fact

This coaster cost $6,500,000 to be built!

4. Steel Venom

Have you ever seen Usain Bolt explode out of the starting block to win a race?

Great, well this ride is Usain Bolt if he was a metal ride, as riders are immediately launched forward and accelerate to almost 70 miles per hour in 4 seconds.

That's how the ride starts.

This U shaped track is unique as you'll be moving forward and backwards at similar speeds.

At the top of the U shape ride, there are slight twists that are just enough to feel like a full twist as you reverse course and back down again.

5. Corkscrew

Featuring 360 degree loops, Corkscrew most definitely earns its name and has been entertaining guests since 1980!

The orange coaster is a staple of the park and can easily be spotted from a distance.

It was actually one of the first roller coasters to feature a double corkscrew and a vertical loop, and is the only roller coaster in the park to contain inversions.

If you're a fan of massive twist and turns, then this is a ride that you can't miss.

Duration

1 minute 30 seconds.

Fun Fact

It's located in the center of the park, and it's impossible to miss.

It has a sister (and older) coaster located in Cedar Point, and it's a very similar ride just with a different layout.
