Magic Morning & Extra Magic Hour: 2020 Guide To Early Admission at Disneyland Resort
There’s two ways to get into Disneyland Park and California Adventure – Magic Morning and Extra Magic Hour. Both are excellent ways to access the parks before they open to the general public, allowing you to enjoy minimal crowd levels and some of the lowest wait times you’ll see all day. Below we address the most important questions regarding early admission, so you can be prepared to make the most of your extra time at the parks.
What Is Magic Morning?
Magic Morning is when Disneyland Park opens one hour early. During Magic Morning guests can experience select rides and dining experiences with minimal waits. While the entire park isn’t open during Magic Morning, it’s a great time to experience certain rides before the official opening of the park to the general public. Wait times during Magic Morning are usually the shortest you’ll see all day, so be sure to take advantage of this one hour window.
How Do I Get Into Magic Morning?
Magic Morning is available to all guests who purchase a three, four or five day ticket. Single, two day and annual passholder tickets are not eligible for Magic Morning.
If your ticket is eligible for Magic Morning access nothing more is required than to show your ticket at the gate upon entry as if you were entering the park normally.
How Many Times Can I do Magic Morning?
ONE TIME PER TICKET. Even if Magic Morning occurs three times during the duration of your five day ticket you can only enter Disneyland once during Magic Morning. Plan carefully to take advantage of the entire hour!
Does Magic Morning Cost Extra?
No. Magic Morning is included in the price of all three, four or five day tickets.
What’s Open During Magic Morning?
Attractions can vary, but expect most of Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Main Street USA to be open. This is a great time to experience some of the most popular attractions in these areas like Space Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight and Alice in Wonderland.
EXTRA MAGIC HOUR
What Is Extra Magic Hour?
Extra Magic Hour is when Disneyland Park and California Adventure open an hour early exclusively for Disneyland Resort hotel guests (Grand Californian, Paradise Pier and The Disneyland Hotel). On alternating days either Disneyland or California Adventure will have Extra Magic Hour.
While the entire park isn’t open during Extra Magic Hour it’s a great time to experience certain rides before the official opening of the park to the general public. Wait times during Extra Magic Hour are usually the shortest you’ll see all day, so be sure to take advantage of this one-hour window to experience some of the more popular attractions.
How Do I Get into Extra Magic Hour?
Extra Magic Hour is only available to guests staying at one of the three on-property Disneyland Resort hotels. Guests are required to present a room key along with a valid park ticket or annual pass before entering the parks during Extra Magic Hour. Your dates of stay are listed on your room key which will also be used for verification.
Can I Get Into Extra Magic Hour The Day I Check-In/Check-Out?
Yes! If you arrive extra early on your day of check-in you can still ask for a room key to access Extra Magic Hour while your room is being prepared. Same goes for check-out day.
How Many Times Can I do Extra Magic Hour?
Everyday! Extra Magic Hour is typically held each day of the week at either Disneyland or California Adventure. As long as you are staying on property and have some form of valid theme park admission you can enter the parks during Extra Magic Hour.
Does Extra Magic Hour Cost Extra?
No – Extra Magic Hour is a perk included with staying on-property at a Disneyland Resort Hotel. While on-property hotels may be more expensive than many of the off property and Good Neighbor Hotels, the proximity to Disneyland and perks like Extra Magic Hour might make staying on-property more appealing.
