What's Included in a Magic Key Pass at Disneyland? | Simply Explained
Disney has so many different types of passes, that it can quickly become overwhelming trying to figure everything out.
In this page, we will explain what a Magic Key Pass at Disneyland is, what benefits they offer, what type of passes there are, and how you can pay for them.
New Annual Pass Program
Normally an annual pass allows a pass holder to visit the park an unlimited number of times throughout the year, on all days that are open to the public.
However in 2021, Disneyland released a new program due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
Disneyland released a new annual pass program this year called the Magic Key.
It was made as a solution as Disneyland has temporarily suspended the annual pass.
It allows park-goers the access that they want, and it allows Disneyland to better manage the crowds.
With the Magic Key, as of the time of this writing, park-goers can only visit on a limited amount of dates.
The amount of times that can a guest can visit the park is dependent on how many block-out dates the program chosen has.
It is specifically designed for Disneyland and California Adventure.
Types of Magic Key Passes
There are four Magic Key programs that guests can choose from, and each one has different benefits, and vary in price.
Imagine Key
Price
$449

Available only to Southern California residents (that are living in postal codes 90000 - 93599).
It allows guests to visit the park on weekdays however it's blocked out for the summer. You can take a look at the calendar to double check dates.

- Parking is not included
Enchant Key
Price
$699

The Enchant Key is priced a little higher and contains less blockout dates than the Imagine Key.
It actually allows guests to visit the parks on the weekdays along with most weekends as well, but dates are blocked out for the summer. You can see the Enchant key calendar here.

Believe Key
Price
$1,099

The Believe Key has less than 50 blockout dates, which means you're available to go through most of the year.
The main times that the blockout dates occur are around Thanksgiving and Christmas.
50% discount on parking is something that stands out as well.

Inspire Key
Price
$1,399

Now the Inspire Key has absolutely no blockout dates.

The hefty price includes admission to both parks as well as parking.

How a Magic Key Pass Works
- Check the Magic Key calendar, and look for the calendar of the key that you purchased (Imagine Key, Enchant Key, Believe Key, Inspire Key).
- Sign into your Disney account from the Disneyland site or use the Disneyland app.
- Select a date and time that you want to visit the park/parks.
- Make a reservation to the park. (If you want to visit both parks on the same day, make sure to make both reservations)
- Review your reservation
- Click 'Confirm' once you agree
- Input your email address to receive the confirmation email
- Double check your email that you've received the confirmation
- Your magic key pass will now be in your Disneyland app. Present your Magic Key pass on the day of your arrival.
Payment Plan
A monthly payment plan will be allows strictly for California residents. You will pay a downpayment fee, and the pay monthly from the following month, for 12 months.
Block Out Dates
Blockout dates vary by the Magic Key pass that you decide to purchase.
That is the one tricky part of this program, as unless you've purchased the Inspire key, you will have to check the calendar to ensure that your pass is valid for the date that you want to visit.
