Journey of Water Attraction

What New Attractions Are Being Built At EPCOT?

With Journey of Water, EPCOT's latest attraction, opening back in October of 2023, we're now left with four attractions currently under construction at EPCOT.

Attractions currently being built at EPCOT include:

  • World Celebration Gardens
  • Communicore Hall
  • Communicore Plaza
  • Mickey & Friends

A significant portion of the construction walls you're used to seeing at EPCOT are due to World Celebration Gardens as well as Communicore Plaza, which takes up a massive amount of space at the park. Once these two attractions are open you'll see a lot less walled-off areas and construction occurring in the park.

Epcot World Gardens

World Celebration Gardens will be the new central hub of EPCOT as you pass under Spaceship Earth.

There won't be a ton to actually do in this area, but it'll serve as a spot to sit and relax while enjoying the trees, flowers, and plants that will make up this garden space.

You can see World Celebration Gardens as a spot serving a similar purpose to the Magic Kingdom Hub

Communicore Hall will open alongside Communicore Plaza and serve as an indoor event space for EPCOT's many festivals.

Details are still uncertain, but you can expect to find cooking demonstrations here during the Food & Wine Festival, gardening demonstrations during Flower & Garden Festivals, and likely lots of merchandise and character appearances year-round.

We also believe this space will be used for various commercial and promotional filming purposes at EPCOT when indoor space is needed to capture interviews or more intimate clips away from the hustle and bustle of the park.

Epcot Construction Area

Communicore Plaza will open alongside Communicore Hall and be adjacent to the indoor space, mainly serving as an outdoor gathering area.

We expect Communicore Plaza to be an extension to Communicore Hall for various event and festival activities.

Mickey & Friends Area

Mickey & Friends will be a dedicated character meet and greet location at EPCOT.

There are a few different meet and greet locations already at EPCOT, but Mickey & Friends will be used as the largest character space designed specifically for meeting all of your favorite Disney friends!
