The Ultimate Kings Island Parking Guide: Everything You Need to Know
When you pull up to the parking lot, you'll realize there are multiple options available when parking at Kings Island.
In this page, we'll go over all of the available parking options, why you'd consider other parking options, and how they stack up against each other.
TYPES OF PARKING OPTIONS AT Kings Island
There are 2 types of parking options at Kings Island including:
- Single-Day Parking - $30
- Preferred Parking - $40
Single-Day Parking will allow you to park in a spot for the day on a first-come first-served basis.
The later that you arrive at the park for the day, the further that you will be parked from the entrance.
Preferred Parking is more expensive, and guarantees you a closer parking spot to the entrance of the park, regardless of what hour of the day you arrive.
It's important to know that there are no Preferred Parking spaces near the entrance to the Soak City water park.
It's also important to know that there are no refunds or rain checks for any parking, which is why we typically buy it through the Carowinds app while we are on the way to the park.
Single-Day Parking at Kings Island
Single-Day Parking is the most basic and cheapest option when parking at Kings Island, and works on a first-come first-served basis.
This means that if you arrive at the park later in the day (during the busier seasons) and purchase Single-Day Parking, you may be parked quite a distance from the entrance as the lot has already filled up.
If you don't mind walking a little extra and/or plan to arrive at the park early in the day, this parking option may be all that you need.
Single-Day Parking will be $30 consistently every day of the year, for one car, motorcycle, or RV/Camper.
Payment Options
It's important to know that Cash is not accepted. Parking must be paid with a credit or debit card.
You're able to pre-pay for parking directly from the Kings Island site.
Preferred Parking at Kings Island
Preferred Parking will provide you access to park closer to the entrance of the park, at a higher cost ($10 more) than Single-Day Parking.
After walking around the park for an entire day, some guests don't want to spend another half an hour (on a busy day) walking back and trying to find their car.
(And those guests who do are wearing the best shoes to walk around with at Kings Island).
Payment Options
Similarly to Single-Day Parking, cash is not accepted. Parking must be paid with a credit or debit card.
You're able to pre-pay for parking directly from the Kings Island site or the Kings Island app.
How to Get Free Parking at Kings Island
If you are a Kings Island Season Pass holder (Gold, Prestige, or Platinum), parking is already included with your Season Pass.
