With Howl-O-Scream taking place in Florida, Virginia, Texas, and California there is a huge difference in the type of weather that can be experienced at each park, but they all do have one thing in common...
You're unlikely to get a refund at Howl-O-Scream due to any sort of inclement weather.
Light rain, heavy winds, and occasional lightning will alter what rides are operating and how many scarers you'll see roaming about, but you typically won't be able to receive a refund under these conditions.
If there are severe weather conditions forecasted throughout Howl-O-Scream and then there is a chance that the event will be canceled, but that call usually isn't made until a couple of hours before the event is slated to begin.
In these circumstances, Howl-O-Scream will typically extend the period your ticket is valid for and allow you to attend any other event day. You may even be eligible for a full refund if you aren't able to make it back to the event at all.
Can I Get A Refund If I Purchase A Ticket For The Wrong Day?
Most Howl-O-Scream tickets are date specific, which means you'll need to use the ticket on the day you indicated you'll be attending when you purchased the tickets. This is because different event days have different prices depending on demand.
However, accidents do happen and you may have clicked the wrong date or simply sometimes plans change in which you might be looking for a refund.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to get a refund in these circumstances.
While far from guaranteed, Howl-O-Scream staff is often forgiving and will help you change your ticket for another event day - as long as that date isn't sold out.
You'll also be responsible for paying any difference in price if the tickets are more expensive for this new event day!
Can I Get A Refund If I Get Too Scared?
This one is a huge no!
Howl-O-Scream has tons of warnings about the event being scary and they make it very clear that you should know what you're getting into before purchasing a ticket to the event
There's really no excuse here for not knowing this event is going to be intense and scary.
Even if you think you have what it takes to handle the event and find yourself way too scared to enjoy it, you aren't going to be able to get a refund.
Remember, this event is designed to be terrifying and you won't find much sympathy for being too scared and looking for a refund!
Can I Get A Refund If One or Multiple Attractions Aren't Open?
It's always disappointing to find out a certain haunted house or ride won't be open during the event especially as these closures typically happen with no warning.
To the surprise of many, Busch Gardens and SeaWorld (and most theme parks for that matter) don't guarantee any rides, shows or other attractions will be operating when you visit.
If just a few attractions aren't operating when you visit Howl-O-Scream you likely won't be able to get any sort of refund, but you might have some other options available to you.
If you don't spend too much time in the park and head to guest services shortly after you see the multiple attraction closures you may be able to change your ticket for another event day.
However, this is far from guaranteed and totally up to the discretion of Howl-O-Scream staff to decide if they will issue you a ticket for a different event day.
Our recommendation is to head straight to guest services and not waste too much time in the park if you want any chance at getting your ticket swapped out.
Can I Get A Refund If Howl-O-Scream Is Canceled?
One of the easiest ways to get a refund on your Knott's Scary Farm is if the event gets canceled on the day you purchased a ticket for.
While Knott's Scary Farm hardly ever gets canceled, there is always a chance that some unforeseen circumstance could cause Knott's to cancel the event for the evening.
If this happens you'll often automatically get an extra ticket to attend Scary Farm on any other date while the event is going on.
But if you aren't able to attend Scary Farm on any other day then it's very possible to get a full refund on your tickets.
This typically involved giving Knott's guest service call or visiting the park in person to explain that you won't be able to attend the event on any other day, but you should have minimal issues getting your money refunded.
Our advice is to simply be kind to the guest service representative you're speaking to and explain why you won't be able to attend any of the other Scary Farm dates. You should find yourself getting a refund processed in just a few business days!
Can I Get A Refund For Other Personal Reasons?
Howl-O-Scream will review any personal reasons like illness, unable to travel, etc. for not being able to attend on a case-by-case basis.
Refunds are always hard to receive, but it is not uncommon for Howl-O-Scream staff to offer you to attend on an alternative date or receive some form of credit.
While each theme park has its own set of policies, you'll find the rules and guidelines to be generally the same as other major theme parks including Disney and Universal Studios.
