If you're a Disney fan you've probably heard of D23 membership and wondering what exactly is this membership club of Ultimate Disney Fans.

How Do You Become A D23 Member?
The process for becoming a D23 Member is simply and can be done entirely online through the D23 website.
On the D23 website you will see a button on the top right corner of your screen that says Join The Club which will easily navigate you from anywhere on the website to their membership page.
From there you will need to create an account using an email address and password along with other general information including your home address as well as first and last name.
You will also see three different types of membership options: General, Gold Individual and Gold Duo

Is D23 Membership Free?
General D23 Membership is free, but you lose many of the perks and benefits of being a D23 member when you aren't Gold or Gold Duo level.
D23 Gold Membership is currently $99.99 a year while Gold Duo is currently $129.99.
General D23 Membership gives you only a small taste of what it's like to be a D23 Member, so we'd recommend going straight to a Gold Membership.
Otherwise you won't see many of the perks and special events that are available to D23 Members.
Is D23 Membership Worth It?
D23 General Membership is free, so we'd say it's worth it for the smaller events and basic discounts you get as a General Member, but you truly don't get the D23 experience until you begin paying for Gold Membership.
D23 Gold Membership is worth it if you plan to attend the many special events (at an extra cost) Disney holds throughout the year for its Gold Members.
D100 Exhibit at the D23 Expo
Previous events includes tours of the Walt Disney Studios, special parties, after hour theme park events and previews of new rides and shows. Disney has also begun to offer tours of their theme parks and other historic destinations with ties to the Walt Disney Company in recent years such as Marceline, Missouri (the hometown of Walt Disney).
It's also great if you plan to use the membership for discounts on merchandise, restaurants and tickets to the D23 Expo which helps make up some of the membership costs.
The membership also goes a lot further in terms of value if you live near Disneyland or Walt Disney World as most of the events are held at or near the theme parks or The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank.
If you aren't interested in special Disney events or the huge D23 Expo and are more of a casual Disney fan then D23 Gold Membership probably won't provide too much value for you.
However if you're looking for access to Disney events, tours and other special Disney experiences then D23 Gold Membership is one of the only ways you'll be able to experience these things!
Membership is renewed annually, so if you're on the fence about membership it's something you can do once and then cancel after a year to assess how much value you feel you got from being a member.
