The Ritz Carlton in Orlando (Grande Lakes) is one of the best hotels in all of Orlando, due to the luxury and high service that you'll receive.
On top of that, they have a top-of-the-line, 40,000-square-foot spa.
In this guide, we will explain everything it offers, all of the pros and cons, and what you can expect with a Spa reservation at the Ritz.
Overall Review of the Ritz Carlton Spa
My wife and I have visited many different spas over the years, however, the Ritz Spa, in particular, has blown us away both times that we've visited.
Amazing service, fantastic amenities, and a great way to relax and reset from daily stresses.
The Ritz Spa offers amazing, top-notch service from the moment that you check into your reservation at the front desk, through your massage, and post-treatment while you enjoy the hot tub, steam room, and even the (exclusive to the spa guests) outdoor lap pool that also serves food & drinks.

How to Check Into Your Reservation
After you've made a reservation online or (via calling them), you'll want to arrive 30 minutes before your reservation time.
You can head directly to the front entrance of the Ritz, and find Valet parking, as it is complimentary for Spa guests.
Once you're inside the Ritz you'll need to make a left turn after the check-in desks, as the Spa is located between the Ritz Carlton and the JW Marriott.
Once you've entered the Ritz Spa building, there will be staff on your right, ready to confirm your reservation and provide you with instructions.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, so if you aren't sure what to do, simply ask.
Entering the Lounge
If it's your first time visiting this spa, the staff member will take you to the elevator, and essentially give you a private tour.
They'll explain the amenities that can be found on each floor, and eventually take you directly to the lounge entrance, where another staff member will be ready to assist you and guide you to the lockers.
The in-lounge staffer will then guide you to your secure locker, explain to you how to put in your pin, and provide you with a robe, slippers, and even champagne.
You'll then change from your current attire, into the robe, and leave all of your belongings safely stored in your locker.
Heading to the Waiting Room
After you've changed, you'll be instructed to head up one floor, to the third floor where there is a waiting room until your name is called for your treatment.
After only a few minutes, the massage therapist assigned to you will come to the waiting room, call for your name and ask you to follow them.
One thing to keep in mind is that it's a very quiet environment, as visitors are there to relax and reset.
Treatment Reservation & Actual Treatment
On the way to the room, the massage therapist will ask if you've been there before and if not explain exactly how everything works, along with any other questions that you may have.
Once you've arrived in the room, they'll instruct you on exactly what to do (such as taking off jewelry), and they will leave the room.
A few minutes later they will knock and ask if they may enter, and then the best part occurs your actual treatment.
We ended up choosing the Deep Muscle Massage for 50 minutes, and it was absolutely worth it.
Although there is an 80-minute option available as well, the 50 minutes did not feel like it was short by any means.
The massage therapists often checked on us to ensure that the pressure was not too strong or too weak.
However, they did not check on us so much that we couldn't relax without frequent interruptions.
It was a perfect balance.
What to Do After Your Treatment
After your treatment, your massage therapist will direct you back to the waiting room, but instruct you to head back down to the lounge.
After your treatment, you're free to enjoy all of the amenities that the Spa offers.
In no particular order, our favorites include the indoor hot tub, sauna, outdoor lap pool, outdoor hot tub, and then rinsing off with the indoor shower before leaving.
Showers include towels, shower gel, shaving cream, shampoo & conditioner.
They also have a range of getting-ready items and toiletries such as mouthwash, toothbrushes & toothpaste, blow dryers, body scrubs, individually packaged brushes and combs, and lotion
If you're planning on spending a lot of your time in the sun by the lap pool, you should consider bringing a book to read.
You'll see the majority of visitors on the lounge chairs by the lap pool reading throughout their stay.
Once you walk outside to the entrance of the outdoor pool area, there will also be a staffer offering sunscreen, aloe vera, and regular lotion that you can refill at any time throughout your stay.
Consider Upgrading to a Cabana Outside
If you're visiting during a busy time, whether a weekend or when there's a large conference taking place in the hotel...
There's a great chance the spa will fill up quickly.
Although you can find lounge chairs all around the pool, if your reservation is later in the day, it might be tougher to find available chairs next to each other.
My wife and I have done spa visits with both no cabana and with a cabana and have had great experiences either way.
We'd only recommend upgrading when there's a large party expected for the day to ensure that you'll have a spot available for the day.
You can ask the pool attendant or any staff member at the front what type of crowd they're expecting for the day.
Types of Cabanas
There are two types of Cabanas, that have their own differences.
Both Cabana options come with complimentary bottled water, the staff will also set up the space comfortably with towels, additional cushioning, and tidy relaxation space.
Cabana Day Beds is what we went with when we upgraded, and it was a nice relaxing way to read a book and alternate between being in the sun and being in the shade.
Not to mention, the cushions were extremely comfortable.
The Cabana Suites bring more luxury, as it provides guests with their section, couches, and a lounge area in general.
