Is Islands of Adventure Worth It?

Islands of Adventure is a fantastic park that is absolutely worth it, as there are so many unique rides that visitors can experience, delicious food and even shows. Also unlike some other parks, the Universal app makes your experience seamless and easy to navigate around the park.

If possible, we'd strongly suggest visiting both Universal parks as they each are unique and there's no overlap between the two parks.

If you're unsure what the difference between Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure is, don't worry we've created a guide explaining this.

How Many Days Do You Need For Islands of Adventure?

If it's your first time visiting, you'll want to plan for at least an entire day just to hit all of the major attractions inside of IOA. The park features 16 rides, 6 shows, and of course the ultra popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Most guests forget to account for wait times as well as stopping to grab food.

It may take longer than 1 day if you're visiting during the busiest time of the year (summer).

Thi is why you'll want to be familiar with knowing when the best day to visit Islands of Adventure is, and how IOA's fast pass system to skip the line works, in order to get the most out of your day.

What Does Islands of Adventure Offer?

IOA is more tailored towards fantasy and thrill rides. Marvel Super Hero Island in particular is one of our favorite areas.

It includes rides with characters such as Spiderman, Doctor Doom and The Incredible Hulk.

The coolest part however is that the Hogwarts Express train actually connects both of the parks through the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Some of the most popular rides at IOA include:

  • The Incredible Hulk Coaster
  • Jurassic World VelociCoaster
  • Jurassic Park River Adventure
  • Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges
  • Pteranodon Flyers
  • Skull Island: Reign of Kong

Can You Do Two Universal Parks in a Day?

You can absolutely do two Universal parks in a day, you'll just want to ensure that you have a park hopper pass, use a Universal Express pass, and are visiting during the slower times of the year. Additionally you'll want to plan out which rides/shows you must-see ahead of time as your time will be limited.

If it's your first time visiting the parks, we'd recommend taking an entire day to visit each park in order to not feel rushed, and enjoy each park individually.
