The sound quality is amazing, as every sound option (and music option) can fill the room.
The Hatch does a great job of providing high-quality sound, while eliminating outside noises, allowing the user to quickly fall asleep, and continue to sleep without interruption.
App Makes it Easy to Use
Our favorite feature of this machine is the easy-to-use app that it comes with.
We can set the Hatch to a specific sound and color and adjust it to be louder/quieter or brighter/dimmer directly from the app.
Although the Hatch also comes with buttons that you can physically press to do the same thing, we prefer the app as this flexibility allows us to place it across the room, and not need to get up in the middle of the night to adjust it.
The icing on the cake is the ability to set a schedule.
The Hatch makes it difficult to get out of bed, but luckily you can set a schedule to turn off the sound at a certain time, or simply lower the sound, and turn up the brightness to help you wake up.

The 2nd Gen Hatch comes with a rechargeable base, while the 1st Gen does not.
The rechargeable base is not necessary, but more of a nice-to-have feature.
It gives you the peace of mind to be able to grab the Hatch and place it anywhere, and know its 8-hour battery life will work for a long time.

The White Noise Machine Sound Machine is by far one of our favorite machines that we've tried.
The sound is very clear and loud, and the buttons all on the same surface make it extremely easy to use.
At first glance, my wife and I believed that the rain, thunder, or ocean options would be our favorites (as we love being around water).
However, the Brook option proved to be our favorite, as the trickling water was very calming and soothing, allowing us to quickly relax and fall asleep.

Although it's small, the Travel Cube still provides solid sound quality, 6 sound options, and a rechargeable cord.
The USB cord allows you to simply recharge the cube with any standard charger, and not have to worry about bringing batteries on your trip
If for some reason, we lose this machine while traveling, it wasn't some extremely expensive machine that will cost a lot to replace.

There are only 5 buttons on the machine, which some users like, while others do not.
Some users like the simplicity as after a few uses they can memorize the button combination to their preferred sound and set the preferred sound.
However, we found these limited options to be a challenge, as it almost works like a shuffle machine, where you have to select the same button many times until you get to your desired sound.
For example, other machines on this list provide a separate button for the rain sound option.
