Unlike the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the American Museum of Natural History in New York City is not free.

However, there are many affordable ways to access the museum if you're on a tight budget. 

Student, Military, and Senior discounts are typically available, as well as the "Pay What You Wish" program.

The only way to access the museum for free is if you're the guest of an American Museum of Natural History member who is part of a high enough membership tier to be able to gift tickets or guests. 

The museum previously held "free days", but since early-2020 these free days have yet to return. As soon as any sort of free admission days return consistently we'll be sure to update this page! 

Parking at the museum also isn't free and is a separate expense you should account for.
