Is Star Wars at Universal Studios?
Star Wars Galaxy's Edge and the cutting-edge Rise of the Resistance attraction is not located at Universal Studios, but at the very similarly named Disney's Hollywood Studios.
In California Star Wars is also not at Universal Studios Hollywood, but at Disneyland!
Rise of the Resistance has quickly become the most popular ride at Hollywood Studios and is accompanied by one other Star Wars themed attraction known as Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run.
Both of these attractions can be found at Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland as well.
Rise of the Resistance
The average wait time to this ultra popular ride is 75 minutes, but during peak-season it can be upwards of 2-3 hours. We recommend planning your day around this Rise of the Resistance to be sure you get a chance to ride.
This isn't your ordinary ride that you hop on, and it's over in under a minute. There's a walk-through portion, a dark ride portion, a simulator portion, and even includes a drop and a lift.
Even the cast members are dressed up, and immediately spring to action in order to transition you into the next portion of the ride. It's an incredibly immersive experience that you can't find anywhere else in the world.
If you're a major Star Wars fan be sure to purchase tickets to the correct theme park (Disneyland or Hollywood Studios) and not to any of the Universal theme parks and end up disappointed when you can't find any Star Wars attractions!
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is the themed area inspired by the Star Wars franchise that is located in both Disney's Hollywood Studios (Orlando, Florida) and Disneyland (Anaheim, California). This is of course where you'll find Rise of the Resistance and Smuggler's Run.
While this is the main area for Star Wars themed restaurants, rides and characters, it's worth noting there are Star Wars attractions outside of Galaxy's Edge!
At both Disneyland and Hollywood Studios you'll find the Star Wars Star Tours attractions actually in a different section of the park.
At Disneyland you'll find the ride in Tomorrowland, while at Hollywood Studios it's located just outside of Galaxy's Edge near MuppetVision and Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular Show.
Star Tours is a great Star Wars themed attraction, but most of the excitement is going to be in Galaxy's Edge.
Regardless of where you head first to get your first does of Star Wars, it won't be at Universal Studios because there are zero Star Wars themed attractions or characters at any Universal theme park.
Again, be sure to head to Hollywood Studios in Orlando or Disneyland in Anaheim if you're looking for Star Wars rides, restaurants and shops!
