Fitness Centers & Gyms

Many Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort hotels include access to a fitness center or gym on property

Some of these fitness centers actually have much more extensive amenities than you may expect to find including Smith Machines, free weights up to 60lbs and Cable Towers.

If you're staying at a Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort property with a gym you'll easily be able to have a full body workout as these gyms are surprisingly well equipped with all the basics and more!

You won't find squat racks or olympic lift platforms at any of the fitness centers on property, but Disney does a great job with their gyms outdoing the likes of Marriott and Hilton at most of their properties!

Running Trails

Walt Disney World has numerous mapped running trails across their properties.

These trails vary in intensity across each property, but the one thing they all have in common is the incredibly scenic routes.

These routes take you around hotels, lakes, forests, pools and boardwalks that you can’t find anywhere else in the world except Walt Disney World!

Pools

Walt Disney World and Disneyland have some of the best pools you’ll find anywhere in the world!

While most of these pools are designed to be fun with children and families in mind, there are also some smaller and more standard pools geared towards adults.

Most pools are going to be very popular no matter what time of year you visit, but early mornings and late evenings are when crowds tend to be the lowest.

Disney Swan Hotel Pool

If you’re hoping for a bit more of a brisk swim to get the heart pumping then head to one of the pools first thing in the morning.

Most guests will be trying to get to the parks early in the morning, so you can take advantage of this time for swimming if it fits your schedule!

Bike Rentals

Bike rentals are available at multiple Walt Disney World Resorts.

There are two different bike rentals available: Surrey bikes and "regular" bikes.

Surrey bikes are meant more so for a leisurely ride with family, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get a good workout in!

Keep in mind you can’t go too crazy with the peddling and speed for the safety of other guests around you, but at locations like the Boardwalk you’ll find some intense inclines which will get the quads burning!

Surrey Bikes

Regular bikes are also available for rent at Fort Wilderness, Saratoga Spring, Wilderness Lodge and multiple other Disney resorts.

You’ll have a bit more of an opportunity to up the intensity with these bike rentals, but you’ll still need to be mindful of your safety and those around you.

Surrey Bike rentals are typically a bit more on the pricey side, around $30 an hour, while the standard bike rental is closer to $20 an hour.

These rentals are a really fun experience at Walt Disney World that you wouldn’t really expect to find, but there’s not better place to do it than Disney World!

Tennis

Tennis courts are available for use at select Moderate and Deluxe Disney World resorts as well as at Fort Wilderness campground.

The recreation center or front desk may have tennis balls available to use, but you’ll likely need to bring your own racquet.

On occasion racquets are available to borrow, but these tend to get lost or damaged quickly, so it can hard at times to find some available on Disney property. We recommend playing it safe and brining your own gear!

Volleyball

Many Disney resorts also have sand volleyball courts for their guests to enjoy.

Volleyballs are often available for checkout at the front desk or recreation center if you can’t bring your own!

The Yacht & Beach Club hotels at Walt Disney World have a beautiful volleyball court with a backdrop of the entire Boardwalk area!

Kayak & Canoe Rentals

Kayak and canoe rentals are another great way to get some exercise in while at Disney World!

Kayaks and canoes can be rented at Fort Wilderness and not only limited to guests staying at Fort Wilderness.

Kayak and canoe rentals are charged per hour of use, but you’ll find yourself quite tired in just a couple of hours in the hot Florida sun.

Yoga Classes

One if the most popular fitness activities at Walt Disney World and Disneyland is sunrise yoga.

These yoga classes are so popular because they sometimes take place at iconic locations including right in front of Cinderella’s Castle.

Sunrise yoga inside the theme parks happens on only a select few dates a year, but otherwise these yoga classes take place outdoors on the various scenic lawns  on Disney hotel property.

Even if you aren’t visiting Walt Disney World or Disneyland when sunrise yoga is taking place inside one of the theme parks, it’s a truly fun and special experience for any yoga lover.
