Best Airport for Disney World | What You Must Know
In this page we'll cover the best airports for Disney World, if they offer transportation to the park, and how far they are from the parks.
Orlando International Airport (MCO)
MCO is hands down the most convenient airport to arrive to if you're planning to visit Disney World.
Not only is it only 18 minutes away (16.8 miles), but Disney's Magical Express service is offered at this airport.
Disney's Magical Express
Disney's Magic Express is a complimentary roundtrip service that takes you between Orlando International Airport and your Disney Resort hotel via a deluxe motorcoach.
Visitors should pick up their luggage from the baggage claim area, and then head to the motorcoach, that will transport you to the Disney hotel.
Disney’s Magical Express service is located at the Main Terminal Building in Terminal B, Level 1 in the Ground Transportation area.
2022 Disney's Magical Express Status
You should know however that this service is ending after 2021.
You can use this service until December 31st, 2021, so don't miss out!
Not Staying at a Disney Resort
Even if you're not staying at a Disney resort, MCO is still the best option, as it is very close to most of the popular hotels in Orlando.
Additionally, MCO is one of the largest and nicest airports in the country.
Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB)
SFB is the second best option if you're planning to visit Disney World.
It is about 45 minutes away from the park (42.3 miles) and is still in the Orlando area.
Disney's Magical Express is not offered at this airport, so you will have to find your own transportation whether through a rental car or ride sharing service.
Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB)
DAB is a great third alternative if you're planning to visit Disney World, however it's perfect if your vacation is more than just theme parks.
It's very common for guests to plan an entire vacation around the beach, and sprinkle in the theme parks in between.
The Daytona Beach International Airport will land you 10 minutes away from the beach, and most likely minutes from your hotel/airbnb.
You'll be in the perfect position to spend a few days at the beach, and still close enough (around 1 hour away) to drive to the theme parks and back.
Unfortunately Disney's Magical Express is not offered at this airport.
